Mon Dieu! The French Baker of Barra de Navidad has had a busy morning, serving a full marina at the Gran Hotel as well as a packed anchorage in the Laguna. By the time he delivered our order (six croissants, two chocolate croissants) he was down to a couple of baguettes.
Otherwise known as Emerick, the French Baker has a nifty little shop wisely-placed near the water taxi dock and tourist district, where he sells little pies that look too pretty to eat, various breads, cookies and croissants. But he’s most famous for his yachtie delivery service. Those who know him say he’s up by 4am, baking, and then he spends the rest of the day surfing. Not the Internet, the waves.
