Oops!

I have to be honest with myself and admit I'm surfing, i.e. reading. I have to get away from this computer and get involved in meatspace (that's the Other World outside of the cybernetic one. It was added to the Oxford dictionary in 2000.)

Maybe I'll go goof around and get some ideas!

Where do I get my ideas from? You might as well have asked that of Beethoven. He was goofing around in Germany like everybody else, and all of a sudden this stuff came gushing out of him. It was music.

I was goofing around like everybody else in Indiana, and all of a sudden this stuff came gushing out. It was disgust with civilization.

My fave Vonnegut book is 'Fates Worse Than Death'.
I ended up giving it to a guy in the US military who was based near Nagasaki.
I loved that book. Have looked for it since but haven't found it.

Are you doing the whole Artist's Way thing? Not just the "no reading" thing?

Overboard - My favorite Vonnegut was "Gallapagos" in which everybody eventually morphed into sea lions, or was it seals?

Billie - When I allow myself to read again (Saturday!), I will reread the book, plus I have Vein of Gold and The Sound of Paper. I think I will choose the suggestions that will work best for me rather than slavishly trying to follow step-by-step this time. The walks (only with my dog), the Morning Pages, the Artist's Altar, some of these ideas would be good to get back to.
