I'm back...Did I miss anything?
Cataclysmic events may have taken place in the last few days, but I was out of touch with the world.
I was tickled this morning to receive a spam on my blog from somebody, whose first language was obviously not English, selling Cialis. Now there's something I really don't need.
In my personal Book of Lists I named some things I will enjoy about living alone. Privileges like waking up, turning on the bedside light and reading at 2am if I feel like it. Getting to drive my own car all the time, which will make me a more confident and competent driver. Playing my favorite music anytime I want, as loudly as I want, even in the car. Listening to talk radio. Getting back the remote, or even not having a TV if I choose. Staying as long as I like at a party. Making my own travel plans, and when traveling, being free to indulge my curiosity. Maybe crewing on another boat or two.
The negatives are mostly fears for the future, which doesn't have to loom large in my life. Un poco a poco, I will meet them, get scared and then overcome them.
One thing I really must do is make another list, of new names for this blog. First Mate is no longer apt. I'm not sure how to change the name without losing my few but faithful readers. Any ideas?

Great photo above in light of the circumstances.
This type of event shares qualities with death in a family. I recall when my father died in 1991, I was walking with my mother along a street in her Atlanta neighborhood. I said: With time, you will see positive aspects to this.
She said that she already was seeing positive aspects. For instance, she said, she did not have to walk jammed right up against the curb anymore.
Once less bell to answer.
One less egg to fry.
Wasn't this time last year he wanted to go off sailing by himself and then changed his mind and invited his wife to join him? That was weird. And also last year, a beach party and you posted "And the Captain danced with me!" like a he'd graced you with divine favor or something. Also, weird.
Good riddance. You're beautiful, especially in your online photo.
Keep the old address and have it link with the new name.
Felipe, nice anecdote.
Bliss, I'll be down soon.
How about this new blog name -
Renaissance Woman
Leon Battista Alberti (1404-72): "A [wo]man can do all things if [s}he will.”
I think you have more readers than you think you have. I've been lurking for many months and enjoy your writing. Take care. Let your friends lift you up. Enjoy driving your own car......
Yeah, I like that blog name.
Cy and Mike... nice name or she can call it "I'm not jammed up against the curb!"
Bliss, or whatever you need to refer to yourself as... Maria can help you change your name on your blog... she's had just a little experience.
How about "La Capitana Nueva"? You are now captain of your own ship!
You're gonna be fine.
Being single rocks, for most of the same reasons you mentioned.
I'll think about a name, but I think only you can do that. It'll come when it's ready.
Good story, Felipe!
Actually, I vote for the title of your blog to be the title of your current post:
I'm back. . .Did I miss anything?
how about
First Mate turned Captain of her own life
Maybe?
Well, I see it as you moved up the pole...CAPTAIN ! ! !) Captain of your own life!..And i don't even know ya's..Just a faithful reader. I enjoy reading your journey. Can't wait to see more of you performing! Keep up the things you really enjoy! Have a great day. BoB
Dear readers, commenters, followers, lurkers and friends - It was a joy reading all your thoughts and feeling the connection with all of you. I wish I could throw a big housewarming and invite every one of you, levitate you here for the evening so we could all see each other face to face, hang out by the pool and get acquainted. Never before in my life have I so valued friends.
Carry on girl. That is what we humans do. I'm sure you'll find joy and friendship in abundance. How about "Just Me". I wish you all the best in your new adventure.
In as much as I think you are - merely replace that M to R.
You are FIRST RATE
And don't forget it!
