I do love comments, and couldn't resist putting that flashing "I Love Comments" button on my page, but it's the old story of "Be careful what you wish for." The button's now history.
Not to be picky, but I'd like the comments to be somewhat relevant to my post, not just sales pitches. Lately I'm getting an awful lot of spam comments, much of it in Asian and possibly Indian script. The Capt advised me those were for porn sites, so I finally decided to confirm that info for myself (praying I wouldn't end up just inviting an avalanche of them) and sure enough, half-dressed Asian girls who looked about 12. Consider yourself warned.

I read something the other day about how they hunt you down and how to keep from being a target for them. I'll see if I can find it.
I get the same stuff but the Wordpress spam filter saves them in the spam folder so they don't get published. I wonder if you can put one of those jumble letter things to keep them out?
As long as you are moderating your comments you can catch these guys. If someone sends you a comment with a hidden link, it's probably asian porn spam. Once again, we in the world are forced to adapt to the worst of its occupants... and I, for one, am thoroughly tired of doing that.

jomamma - That would be very helpful. I'm getting 7-8 of these a day and it's getting to be a drag.
Nancy - I just get notices in my email on most of these, they don't show up in Blogspot. Since I have Gmail, I have an option of reporting spam, so I always earmark these and report them. But it's like reporting drops in the ocean, there are always more.
Sailor - It's always pretty obvious when it's spam. Sometimes it reads in English but like ESL English and it's written to sound like some foreign student but there are so many I've gotten wise to them.
C&K - I think it was when I put up the "I Love Comments" doodad that they got onto me. Not because of my vast fan base.
Felipe - For which one? I get dozens, in various Asian characters, none of which are decipherable. (I knew one of you guys would want to take a look and you were on my short list, you dirty old man, you.)
I get those on every post but just reject them. Maybe I'll forward them to Felipe, ha.
